California Valley is a city-that-never-was (not to be confused with California City, a different city-that-never-was) out in the Carrizo Plain of central California. The street grids were platted and lots sold, but the extreme dryness of the region doomed the city, and few people ever moved to the area. Now, the area has gone solar, as nobody can think of anything better to do with the land.
